Get to Know Us a Bit Better
Dr. Nancy Schmidt is a General Dentist and alumni of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia. Prior to this she was a Certified Dental Assistant for 8 years and also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria. Her vision is to offer comprehensive and compassionate dental care to patients of all ages, including young children. She has a passion for Preventive Dentistry and recognizes that a healthy mouth involves a wholesome approach involving overall systemic health, diet, as well as oral hygiene. She also values educating herself with current research topics and aims to provide safe treatment for all patients. She finds it especially important to take the time to work with all patients to achieve these important goals.

Our Office Policies
At our Dental Clinic we believe that clarity is the key to a good and respectful relationship. In an effort to ensure your dental appointment is as pleasant and predictable as possible, we would like to give you an overview of our office policies:
Insurance Policies
We ask that all patients read through and understand their insurance policies and bring the details of their insurance coverage to their dental appointment. It is not always possible for us to access all the information concerning your insurance plan, as insurance companies are not obligated to disclose any or all information to us due to the privacy act. We recommend that patients verify their coverage with their insurance company and bring in their dental coverage booklet to their appointment.
Financial Policies
We are an assignment office, which means that our dental office files the dental insurance claims on behalf of our patients and request that the insurance company pays our office directly for the services provided. Patients are required to pay any remaining balance, at the time of the appointment, if the insurance company does not pay in full. If your insurance does not allow payment directly to our office you are then responsible for payment of the full amount, at the time of your appointment. We will still submit claims on your behalf and have the insurance company pay you directly. If you do not have any insurance coverage, we do require payment in full, at the time of your appointment. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX, DEBIT, E-transfer and PERSONAL CHEQUE.
Appointments
Although we will make every effort to confirm your dental appointment, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that you will be at your appointment. Please ensure that you have updated your contact information including mailing address with our Front Desk. We understand that sometimes things happen and you may not be able to keep a scheduled appointment. As this time has been reserved for you, we do require 2 business days notice to avoid a missed appointment fee of $100, so that we can offer that time slot to another patient. We take pride in staying on schedule as we appreciate that everyone’s time is valuable. By arriving on time to your appointment this allows us to complete your scheduled treatment and prevent the next patient from waiting. Please call us immediately to let us know if you may be late for your appointment.

Contact Us
Should you be arriving by car, the parking lot on Yates St is $2.00 an hour, while street parking is available for free for the first 2 hours. All NEW patients should arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out a new chart. Remember, we require at least 2 business days notice to cancel or change an appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. Thank you!
